Editorial policy
This page explains where the technical information on this site comes from and how it is checked. The aim is simple: anyone reading a dimension or a regulatory requirement here should be able to trace it back to its source before relying on it.
Where product data comes from
Product names, reference numbers, weights, materials and dimensions come from the manufacturer's own documents: catalogue pages, technical data sheets and product PDFs. Copies of those documents sit under the product page, so you can read the same data at its source.
We do not publish a value the manufacturer has not published. In the MRF catalogue, 158 of 166 data sheets have no text layer - their dimensions cannot be read by machine, so instead of guessing we show the sheet itself on the product page.
Descriptions of what a part is come from the class of product, not from invention: lock series, tube diameter, right- and left-hand versions - things the catalogue structure itself shows. Those texts contain no number that is absent from the manufacturer's document.
Who checks references and dimensions
Aris Makina does the checking: the reference number against the manufacturer's current catalogue, weight and material against the data sheet. The publisher of the articles is Aris Makina as well - a technical text is backed by the company rather than by an individual, so the articles carry no personal byline. Responsibility sits with the company and is traceable through the correction log.
Where a number on a product page conflicts with the manufacturer's sheet, the sheet governs. If you spot such a conflict, tell us: we correct it against the source and record the correction under the article.
How regulatory articles are prepared
On regulation, food safety, ATP, HACCP, data protection and occupational safety we work only from the primary document: the official gazette text, the national legislation portal, EUR-Lex, UNECE and the issuing body's own publication. Secondary retellings - news items, blog posts, consultant slides - do not count as sources.
The full text of licensed standards (ISO, ASTM and the like) has to be bought. When we refer to them we give the clause number and the standard's official page; we do not attribute wording to a standard whose text we have not bought.
These articles are informational and do not replace the text in force. What binds you is always the official version of the document.
Reporting an error
If you see something wrong, write to info@aris-makina.com. Include the page address, which sentence it is and the correct source you have - that makes the correction far quicker.
A correction is made the day it is verified. Corrections of substance appear under the article with their date; we do not log spelling and formatting fixes separately.
When articles are updated
An article is updated when the document behind it changes: an amended regulation, a new edition of a standard, a product withdrawn from the catalogue, or a revised data sheet. We do not refresh on a schedule - changing content merely because a date looks old helps nobody.
The “Updated” date under the title is the day the content was last checked against its source, not every day the file was touched. No date means nothing of substance has changed since first publication.
What we do not write
Lead time, stock, warranty scope and price are not published here: they depend on the order, the quantity and the day, and are given in writing with the quotation. Customer references, case studies and certificates appear only when we hold the document.
We do not attribute to a manufacturer anything it has not said. Where a performance claim comes from the brand's own document, it is written with the brand's name and with the conditions under which it holds.
