Suer anodised rod hingeChromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel (AISI 304, 18/8). Its corrosion resistance comes from a passive chromium-oxide film, which can reform on a clean surface supplied with oxygen. Grade 304 is not immune to corrosion: chlorides, road salt, marine exposure and tight crevices can cause pitting or crevice corrosion. Grade, finish, detailing and cleaning frequency must match the exposure.

MRF spare partsA method for hollow plastic parts: powdered polyethylene coats the inside of a heated mould rotating on two axes, forming a seamless, stress-free body. Used for mudguards, tanks and boxes.
Co.Par rotomoulded productsA zinc layer protecting steel from corrosion. Economical, but protection weakens locally if the coating is scratched. For parts constantly exposed to road salt, compare with stainless 304 before choosing.
Blog: 304 or galvanisedThe wheeled prop that keeps a drawbar trailer balanced when uncoupled and raises or lowers it. Solid-tyre types cover light trailers; as the load grows, bevel-gear-driven models take over.
