MRF - Mecanizados Rodríguez Fernández in full - is a family company founded by José Rodríguez Fernández in 1966 in Ourense, Galicia, Spain. In its early years the workshop made parts for passenger coaches; from 1972 it turned to what it does today: hinges, locks and steel accessories for trucks and industrial bodywork.
The company took its current name in 1984 and moved to its plant in the Pereiro de Aguiar industrial park in 1999. Production has stayed there ever since: design, tooling, sheet cutting, welding, surface finishing and assembly in a single plant.
MRF is still a family company. Model changes follow demand from the field, and a lock that entered the catalogue years ago is still available under the same reference number.

How the factory works
Alongside the standard catalogue, MRF develops customer-specific parts for applications where a dimension, coating or mounting arrangement differs.

Engineering and R&D
MRF's engineering department develops products around real market demand, and the tooling is the factory's own. That means full control over production - and new products reach the line quickly.
The designs are protected by patents and registered industrial designs. In 2008 the Spanish Ministry of Industry recognised MRF as a company carrying out R&D.
