Vaccine storage conditions come from product information; point-of-use practice and distribution records must be checked against their own current instructions and requirements. Treating one document as the answer for the whole chain can blur transport and administration responsibilities.
Keep the three checks separate
- Product: storage conditions, preparation for use and excursion guidance in the current product information and packaging.
- Point of use: storage, monitoring and responsibility steps in current Ministry of Health immunisation instructions.
- Distribution: GDP requirements that apply to the organisation's activity, transport records and excursion process.
For each check, record the document title, version or publication date, responsible person and the field in your own record that demonstrates it. When a document changes, it becomes clear which procedure needs review.
After a temperature excursion, preserve the data and do not decide the product's status by guesswork. Segregate affected stock, retain readings and duration, and obtain written product-specific direction from the authorised quality or public health lead.
This checklist does not replace legislation. Applicable documents and responsibilities must be verified against the site's role, product and current official texts.
