The Medicine Tracking System and a temperature record answer different questions. A tracking record is used to follow product identity and movement; a logger's measurement history shows transport conditions. One does not replace the other.

Join records with the same shipment key. Add the shipment ID to the product serial or batch list and logger report. At handover, the carton label, product identity, quantity and logger file should be traceable to the same consignment. Use batch or serial-level fields according to the product and site procedure.

When a temperature excursion is reported, first identify which products were in the shipment. Movement records help locate the product transaction under review; logger data helps retrieve the shipment's measurement profile. Segregate affected stock under the procedure and preserve raw data.

A movement record alone cannot determine quarantine, release, return or destruction. Product-specific storage information, temperature data and an authorised quality assessment must be considered together.

Run a short desk check on one shipment: retrieve its product list from the ITS movement record, find the logger file using the same ID and identify who received it. Fixing a missing link now makes a real excursion investigation faster.
