Mean kinetic temperature (MKT) summarises a variable temperature record as an equivalent constant temperature under a selected kinetic model. It does not establish product acceptance by itself.
Check calculation inputs
Report logging interval, sensor relationship to the product, missing data and assumptions used. Retain the source file and calculation method.
Review excursions separately. Show time-temperature events on the raw graph. Do not let the MKT summary erase a rise or a limit in product instructions.
Make a product-specific decision
Give the product lead the label, stability information and site procedure. Do not infer suitability or release from MKT alone.
Complete the report
Alongside the calculated value, state period, sensor position, data integrity and method version. Do not directly compare MKT values based on different assumptions.
