Transport does not have the same HACCP classification in every operation. The product flow and the site's hazard analysis should justify it; a general article example cannot make the decision.
Describe the flow and hazard
Show product, packaging, transport duration and later process steps on the flow diagram. Enter potential transport hazards and existing controls in the HACCP team's records.
Review later steps
With the team, assess whether a relevant hazard can be controlled at a later stage and how prerequisite programmes manage the risk. Keep the decision and rationale in writing.
Link monitoring design to classification
If transport is designated a CCP, the team defines a product-appropriate limit, measurement method, frequency, owner and deviation record. Verify their basis in the approved plan and product requirements.
If managed as a prerequisite, specify how vehicle, container, cleaning, route or training controls are evidenced. Review the HACCP plan through the site's own verification process.
