Decisions in live fish transport depend on species, life stage, water system and loading plan. One oxygen level, temperature, stocking density or safe transit duration does not apply to every fish.

Identify the batch and system

Record species, life stage, batch count, tank, water source and loading density on the dispatch record. Verify pre-transport preparation and the oxygen and circulation system against the responsible aquaculture operator's plan.

Set measurement times. Record water temperature, dissolved oxygen and system status at loading and arrival. For long routes or transfers, set check frequency under the specialist plan. Take required water-chemistry indicators and acceptance limits from a protocol suitable for the species and life stage.

During transit, check oxygen supply, flow, alarms and tank integrity, and log event times. Review arrival findings with the operator; one reading or a low loss rate is not a guarantee for the next shipment.
