The ATP plate is fixed permanently in a clearly visible place, next to any other official approval plate, and measures at least 160 x 100 mm. It shows the approval number with the sign of the State that granted it, the equipment number, the class code, and the month and year the approval ends.
The code IN means normally insulated and IR heavily insulated equipment. The date shows the current status: checks are made before service and at least every six years, and if the general condition of the body is favourable the class can be kept for three more years (ATP Annex 1, Appendix 2, Section 5.3). When the period is extended, the new date is added on the same line.
A fitted plate counts as the certificate of compliance. Do not print a label of your own to replace a worn plate; send Aris Makina a photo of the plate and the equipment number.
