Frequently asked questions
How many hours does it hold the cold?
GEBHARDT's documents describe up to 24 hours with eutectic plates or dry ice. Actual duration depends on product, fill level, openings, ambient conditions, route and plate configuration. We submit a free thermal-analysis request to GEBHARDT using the needs-form inputs. The calculation informs configuration and the trial plan; temperature records must validate the holding period for the intended shipment.
Dry ice or eutectic plates?
The container can work with either. Eutectic plates can be reused, but the plate choice and freezing capacity must be validated for the operation. Plate and dry-ice costs vary by operation. Dry ice is single-use and requires steady supply and suitable packaging.
Wheeled or pallet-based?
If manoeuvring over the last metres and manual unloading matter, choose a wheeled model; if you use forklifts or pallet trucks, choose a pallet-based model. In the verified standard range, the 410, 600, 725 and 795 L models are wheeled; the 900, 1000, 1070, 1170 and 1500 L models are pallet-based.
Which sizes exist?
Nine standard sizes from 410 to 1500 litres. External and internal dimensions are in the size table on this page.
How is it cleaned?
The inner surfaces are smooth and food-safe; GEBHARDT lists easy cleaning as a design feature. After damage, panels can be repaired part by part.
Does it replace a refrigerated vehicle?
When the route, products and load configuration are validated, separate Isotec TBX containers can carry goods at different temperatures in one standard vehicle. GEBHARDT positions the system as more economical than a refrigerated vehicle; actual cost varies by operation. It is ATP and HACCP certified for food transport.
