Chocolate shipments should be assessed against product formulation, packaging, and buyer acceptance criteria together. Check the product specification instead of assuming a universal transport duration or temperature for warm weather.

Add product name and presentation, lot, packaging type, dispatch time, route, waiting points, and receipt conditions to the batch record. Match the manufacturer's storage and transport requirements to the quote and operating plan.

Pilot with the actual load and packaging. If the procedure requires it, record ambient and product temperature using a suitable instrument; note device, measurement location, and times. Link visible surface changes to the same batch with a photo or inspection record.

At receipt, record packaging damage, appearance, and buyer acceptance decision. If a product condition deviated or quality is in doubt, segregate the batch and refer release to the quality lead.

Results may differ with season, packaging, or route. Do not automatically transfer conditions validated in a pilot to other products or routes; reassess when the setup changes.
