EPS and EPP boxes look alike from outside, but the number of times a box will come back separates them. BASF describes Styropor EPS as the raw material for impact- and moisture-resistant packaging, which is a sound starting point for a single shipment. ARPRO states that EPP takes multiple impacts without damage and reforms to its original shape.
| EPS | EPP | |
|---|---|---|
| Property the source describes | Impact- and moisture-resistant packaging | Returns to shape after repeated impacts |
| Flow | Usually one-way shipment | Returnable flow |
The material name gives no washability, load capacity or thermal duration; those depend on the box model. When choosing, write the expected cycles, wash method, loaded weight and empty return on one form, then trial the sample under route conditions and record the damage.
