Equipment whose warranty has ended is the same equipment; what changes is who carries the cost of a fault. That is why the last month of the warranty is an opportunity: the fleet is reviewed and defects covered by the warranty are reported, because once the period is over the same defect becomes a repair invoice.
Between merchants, defect notice is also tied to short deadlines: a defect obvious at delivery is notified within two days, others within eight days of delivery (Turkish Commercial Code Article 23/1-c). Claims for defects become time-barred two years after delivery unless the seller undertook a longer period (Turkish Code of Obligations Article 231).
| Period | What to do |
|---|---|
| Within warranty | Report defects, with photo and date |
| Final month | Inspect the whole fleet |
| After warranty | Monthly preventive maintenance |
Under warranty it was enough to report what broke; afterwards, seeing it before it breaks makes economic sense. Gasket checks, a castor rotation test and lid sealing are tied to a monthly routine. Waiting for a part now means downtime directly, so critical-part stock and a small repair line for the first year are decided at this date.
Link the warranty end date in the container file to a reminder; noticed after it has passed, the last month's opportunity is gone.
