Castor behaviour depends on model, load and floor. Do not apply one arrangement diagram to every transport carrier.
Check label and total load. Get swivel/fixed castor type, brake option and permitted load from model documents. Consider carrier, product and accessory weight together.
Trial the loaded route. Under supervision, test level flooring, thresholds, turns and ramps. Check stability, steering and operator visibility, and record conditions.
Assess parking separately from manoeuvring
Castor layout may aid movement but does not guarantee stopping or holding on an incline. Follow maker instructions for brakes, locks and chocks.
Report faults
If a castor has play, damage, ineffective brake or slips on the floor, move the load to a safe area and notify service. Do not continue with unsuitable parts.
