Calculate loss from one incident file and separate estimated impacts from documented expenditure.
Match each item to evidence. Match affected quantity and value to stock records; investigation hours and roles to the incident form; extra shipment to invoices or freight records; and disposal costs, if any, to an approved transaction record. State the organisation’s labour-cost method.
Before totaling, check that insurance or supplier recovery, returns and replacement freight do not count the same loss twice. Report unmet demand or treatment delay separately as qualitative impacts; do not invent a monetary value.
For period or route comparisons, use the same cost scope and currency. If records are incomplete, label the result an estimate and list the missing evidence.
