Conditions between a shop and home vary with each trip; one fixed time limit does not fit every product and route. Follow product labels and reduce waiting during the journey.
Pack according to product type
Pick chilled and frozen goods at the end. Carry raw meat, fish or poultry separately from ready-to-eat foods in leakproof packaging. If you have several stops, consider changing the shopping plan instead of leaving these goods in the vehicle.
When using an insulated bag, pack products securely without damaging their packaging; do not leave the bag in sunlight or a hot vehicle. Its size, coolant and closure should fit the actual load; appearance alone does not show product condition.
Complete the handoff at home
Note arrival time and unusual delays. Put products away promptly according to their label; if packaging leaks or is damaged, separate the item and seek guidance from the product owner or official food-safety guidance. If a problem recurs in your routine, adjust route, time or bag arrangement and observe the result.
