A PVC strip curtain is an additional layer across a doorway; its performance depends on opening dimensions, overlap, material and traffic. Do not assume a universal replacement age or fixed energy saving.
Inspect condition and use
Photograph missing, detached, torn or hardened strips, gaps, coverage and visibility from consistent angles. Record forklift and pedestrian traffic and door-open duration across representative shifts. If the curtain obstructs movement or visibility, request a workplace-safety review even if it is intact.
When replacement is needed, verify the opening dimensions and the manufacturer’s stated operating range for the material. Test strip width and placement on the actual doorway; a curtain does not replace the door, air curtain or refrigeration controls.
Before and after replacement, collect data at the same temperature points under comparable outdoor conditions, door use and product load. Add results and fault photos to the maintenance record; do not claim savings without measurement.
