One temperature or humidity target does not apply to every seed variety and lot. Match the supplier’s written conditions to the order and planting plan.

Dispatch and receipt checks

Compare lot ID, variety, quantity and quality documents with the shipping papers. Record crate or sack type, ventilation openings, loading time and waits along the route.

Photograph observable crushing, wetting, decay or sprouting at dispatch and receipt; state the scope if a sample from the lot was checked. If temperature or humidity is measured, log instrument ID, calibration status and position.

Segregate damaged lots or lots with uncertain conditions from other stock. Obtain a written decision on acceptance, planting suitability and next steps from the supplier’s quality lead and the buyer’s authorised person.
