Transport needs for seaweed and other sea vegetables vary by species, processing and product label. A method suitable for one product should not be assumed to fit all seaweeds.
Carry lot details from dispatch to receipt
Record species or commercial product name, harvest or processing lot, package condition and supplier storage instructions. If washed, document draining under the product's process record; verify any water or ice contacting the product against its specification.
Inspect tray arrangement in a small trial load. Check stacking pressure, air gaps and pooled free water; choose lid, shelf and drainage arrangement according to product instructions. A container's stated volume is not the amount that can travel without crushing or after accessories are fitted.
Use the same acceptance criteria as the buyer
Link departure and arrival times, measurement method and any near-product temperature profile to the lot record. At receipt, smell, colour or texture alone is not a safety decision; photograph damage and deviations and refer them to the quality lead under the buyer's written acceptance terms.
