Transfer waiting may look short on one run. Group it by run ID to see monthly totals and extremes; mark missing timestamps separately.

Pulling the duration out. Record unload and next-vehicle load times. Example: a container unloaded at 10:12 and loaded at 10:27 waited 15 minutes.

Seeing the total

Sum waiting minutes for the month; divide by run count for the average and report the longest separately. Keep missing timestamps visible outside the calculation.

Where the cost sits

  • If the container waited open, record that state and duration.
  • If it waited closed, note the area and surrounding conditions.
  • If a delivery time is recorded, match the delay to the same run.

Whose time is it. Record the transfer point and handover time from each side. This ties lost time to a run and location; responsibility follows the procedure.

Ways of shortening it

Compare waiting by time band and run. When trying a change, keep the same measures before and after; equipment change alone is not an outcome.

Keep measuring

Recalculate total, average and longest wait after a change. If total falls but the peak stays, inspect the specific long-wait run separately.
