Acidic chemicals can interact with zinc coatings; damage depends on product formulation and exposure conditions. Do not assume one result for every acidic product.

Identify the exact coating type, component supplier and cleaner product code. The pH on a chemical label alone is not a material compatibility statement.

Compare equipment instructions with the cleaner maker's concentration, temperature and contact-time conditions. If the instructions conflict, get written guidance before use.

After washing, dry the surface and photograph discoloration, coating loss or corrosion at the same locations. Visual inspection does not measure coating thickness.

Report suspected damage to the maintenance owner; decide on repair and return to use under maker instructions and site procedure.

Keep chemical, dilution, application conditions and inspection result in cleaning records; review recurring findings with suppliers.
