Under Article 19 of the Packaging Waste Control Regulation (2021), a business that produces packaging waste follows the Waste Management and Zero Waste regulations for accumulation, interim storage, handover to collectors and transport; Article 20 does not allow recoverable packaging waste to be sent to disposal facilities. The flow that meets this obligation is built on four points on the floor.

  1. Collection: separate bins for cardboard, stretch film and foam a few paces from where boxes are opened; when the distance grows, material goes into the nearest mixed bin.
  2. Separation: separate streams for cardboard, plastic film, foam and mixed waste.
  3. Interim storage: a sheltered area that can be weighed.
  4. Handover: get the collector's accepted material types and authorisation document in advance, and keep the weighing and handover documents by material type at each delivery.
