ATP is the United Nations agreement that requires special equipment for carrying perishable food, in force since 1976. Türkiye became a party through Law 6298 (Official Gazette, 10 May 2012), and a regulation of 2 July 2021 brought the agreement into domestic carriage from 1 January 2022.
| Shipment | Document needed |
|---|---|
| Unloading country is party to ATP | ATP certificate |
| Domestic, between cities | ATP certificate; on older vehicles not over 15 years, a Perishable Food Transport Certificate |
| Within a city | Outside the regulation (2025 amendment) |
| To a country not party to ATP | No ATP requirement |
An ATP certificate is valid for 6 years on new equipment, extends by periodic inspection in steps of three years and, per the Ministry of Transport guide, tops out at 15 years. The Perishable Food Transport Certificate cannot be used for carriage to ATP party countries. A roadside check looks at the plate, the class mark and the expiry date; the class must suit the food's temperature, for example ice cream -20 °C and mince +2 °C.
GEBHARDT states ATP and HACCP certification for the Isotec TBX. Send us the goods, the route and the refrigeration clause in your specification and we put together the document set for the shipment, taking the GEBHARDT paperwork and passing it on.
