Rims stacked on a flat pallet are unstable: the bottom row carries the weight above it and the stack can tip during forklift handling. EWPS (European Wheel Standard Pallet System) solves this with a three-part set: a base pallet, plastic tiers and a top frame. The tiers seat each row of rims, the top frame locks the stack, and the set becomes a self-securing load unit.

EWPS belongs to a line outside the cold chain: the GEBHARDT range runs from automotive carriers to warehouse equipment.

VDA and EUWA recommend delivery on standard EWPS pallets; because the dimensions are fixed, the pallets enter a pool and travel with the same set from the wheel maker to the assembly line. GEBHARDT is the only certified manufacturer in Europe for all three EWPS sizes, and the sets fit rims from 15 to 24 inches.

In the warehouse, rim diameter and mass set the size. Test with a sample that the base pallet fits the rack openings and forklift or pallet-truck access, and add the floor space that empty pallets take on the return leg to the cycle plan. Get the standard and certification scope the OEM requires from the buyer in writing.
