A polymer name or a “cold resistant” label alone is not enough to select a freezer container. Choose from data for the specific model and the actual handling task.

Ask the supplier for model data

Look for the operating temperature range, low-temperature impact test and load capacity on the written technical sheet. If data are missing, share the use conditions and request confirmation from your supplier. Do not assume that alternate lids and latches share the body’s ratings.

Trial a sample loaded as planned through transport, stacking and unloading. Check corners, stacking feet, lid and latches each cycle; record cracks or deformation with model, lot and conditions.

If ice or condensation forms, trial the cleaning, drying and stacking process too. Segregate damaged containers and decide on reuse under the site procedure.
