Door-lock operation varies by model. The number of lock points alone does not prove door pressure or sealing.
Verify the hardware
Identify model and option codes; check the maker's drawing for latch, strike and adjustment points. Do not assume another model uses the same mechanism.
Observe closure
Inspect door alignment, hinge play, catch movement and seal contact using the instructed method. Use a paper test only if the manufacturer recommends it.
Record the finding
Add the location of any closure gap, change in handle effort, seal damage and a photo to the maintenance record. Do not compensate for a damaged seal by overtightening.
Obtain a service decision
Follow authorised service or manufacturer procedures for adjustment, replacement and return to use. Repeat and record the same check afterward.
