During a power cut, the first priority is understanding the situation and preserving the record chain, not moving stock immediately. The plan should assign outage scenarios and responsible contacts in advance.

When the outage is detected

Record the start time, affected room or equipment and alarm status. Keep doors closed; have authorised technical staff confirm that the logger runs, data transfer continues and the generator supplies the relevant refrigeration load.

If backup power does not engage or monitoring data stops, alert the quality and technical contacts at once. Preserve product and batch IDs, raw logger files, temperature history and field actions.

Use the relocation plan only if the destination's equipment, capacity, monitoring and access were verified in advance. Record transfer duration, vehicle or container used and handoff; monitor the move as a new exposure event.

When power returns, do not release stock only because the display again shows target. The product owner and authorised quality staff assess the full time-temperature history against applicable product conditions.
