A useful prevention case links loss and intervention records to the same operating period. Do not infer annual savings from a single incident.

Link wastage, returns, extra trips, waiting, customer complaints and temperature deviations to source records. For each item, state date, product or route, shipment count and how any cost was calculated.

If equipment intervened, connect alarm, maintenance, operator action and product outcome records. If the counterfactual is unknown, do not claim a definite avoided-loss amount; identify it as an unverified assumption.

Show installation, maintenance, consumables and labour alongside purchase cost. Compare the current process and proposed pilot under comparable loads and periods; define the success measure in advance.

Include data sources, gaps, calculation method and review date in the management case. Do not promise savings or payback before pilot results exist.
