Before an ISO 14083 calculation, state which transport chain and reporting period are covered. Results cannot be compared if the boundary is unclear.
For each activity line, add the date range, route or operation, vehicle or service type, activity data and its source. Collect the data required by the applicable method.
Retain fuel receipts, telematics, dispatch records and supplier data with their sources. Mark clearly whether each value is measured, allocated or estimated.
If a vehicle carries multiple loads, document the allocation rule and the weight, volume or other driver used. Verify applicability against the full standard.
Check whether empty returns, transfers, depots or auxiliary energy are within scope; record excluded activity and the reason.
Reconcile period totals with fuel, distance and dispatch records. Keep data gaps, quality checks and calculation version in the reporting file.
