A forklift lifts the pallet base under the container, not the container. GEBHARDT builds the pallet-base TBX models with a galvanised steel base that forklifts, electric pallet trucks and pallet jacks can enter from every side.
| Base | Models | Payload | Handling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Castors, Ø125 mm | TBX 410, 600, 725, 795 | 500 kg | Hand manoeuvring |
| Galvanised steel pallet | TBX 900, 1000, 1070, 1170, 1500 | 700 kg | Forklift and pallet truck, four-way entry |
The castor models are made to be pushed by hand inside a shop. On no model do tines go into the body: the insulation layer is crushed, a small dent outside hides compressed foam behind it, and that part of the wall may pass more heat. Because the container looks sound it stays in service and produces temperature deviations nobody can explain, so a damaged container is marked before it returns to the field.
Turning in a narrow aisle, a tine tip can catch the side wall of a neighbouring container; keeping containers away from the forklift route prevents it. Containers are not stacked on top of each other, so vehicle and depot plans are made for a single layer.
