A scratch on an interior surface is a finding for cleaning and maintenance review; it does not by itself establish hygiene suitability. Link assessment to the site's procedure for food-contact surfaces.

Document the finding location

Record container ID, surface area, observed scratch, discoloration and date with a photo. Compare with prior photos using the same angle and lighting.

Inspect after cleaning

After the approved cleaning step, note any residue, snagging or remaining surface change on the checklist. Visual inspection does not replace a laboratory or verification test.

Refer the decision to an authorized process

If the surface cannot be cleaned, damage is progressing or a coating appears compromised, segregate the container for quality review. Verify repair and reuse with manufacturer and site procedures.
