When a container display gives an unexpected value, its cause is not yet known. Check the measurement and its conditions together before drawing a conclusion about the goods.
Initial check sequence
- Record the value, time, location and reader.
- Inspect the display and the visible sensor position.
- Note any change to the lid, gasket or surrounding conditions.
- Notify the authorized role and follow the established instruction.
- Leave any decision to open the load or continue shipment to the authorized process.
Preserve measurement context
Opening the lid can change conditions around the load. If opening is required, record when and why; do not erase the earlier display or overwrite it with a new value.
Keep a second reading separate
If an approved second device is used, add its ID, measurement point and time. Compare the results, but do not treat a difference alone as proof of failure.
Sunlight and position. Direct sun can affect the device surroundings and measurement point. If it is moved to shade or repositioned, record that change and the time of the next reading.
What a comparison needs
Put the product conditions, trip stage, device and measurement point on the form. Without them, it is unclear whether two values can meaningfully be compared.
Include the useful details
Tell the control point the first value, time, container ID, lid status and checks completed. If the timezone or device clock differs, identify the source.
