If the consignee or dock is not ready, record the wait conditions. Follow shipment instructions and site procedures for parking, lid handling and product decisions.
Choose the waiting location
If the site allows it, use a safe designated holding location. Do not seek shade in a way that breaches traffic or workplace safety rules.
Tie lid handling to procedure
Do not open the load until readiness is confirmed and product instructions allow it. The procedure should specify which device to use for a reading.
Round and record
| Event | Trip record |
|---|---|
| Arrival | Time and location |
| Wait | Start/end, notification |
| Departure | Move time, reading and device |
Document the check. Check lid, latch or external reading only as assigned; record what was checked and the result.
Container colour and surface
Do not set a parking duration or internal temperature limit from colour. Without maker instructions or site measurements, these are not verified limits.
Effect on the next stop. Notify dispatch of the delay and leave route changes to the authorised person. Consider remaining stops together with recorded readings.
