Whether a carrier offers cold-chain service may depend on consignment and route. A current service description alone does not show that your product is accepted.
Describe the consignment. Send the carrier product type, packaging, origin and destination, transit time and temperature requirement in writing.
Ask for service terms
Get shipment-specific confirmation of accepted contents, committed conditions, transit time and any transfer points.
Records and delays
Clarify in writing who measures, how records are accessed and retained, and who notifies whom and when if a delay occurs.
Deviation and damage process
Read responsibility, notification and investigation steps in the contract and service terms. Do not assume perishable goods are covered; seek legal advice where needed.
Complete the shipment file. Keep written carrier acceptance, route terms and tracking records. If using your own insulated container, confirm its acceptance and delivery conditions separately.
