Parts that look alike in a catalogue may differ in dimensions, finish or fit. Before ordering, use the brand and full reference rather than the product name, and verify critical dimensions against a drawing or datasheet.

Match the part identity

Copy the reference from the catalogue page into the request. Compare dimensions, material grade, surface or coating and mounting points with the existing part or assembly drawing. Do not guess what a code means; reference systems vary by product family.

Confirm the datasheet

The datasheet name and revision should match the requested reference. If the document is unavailable, details appear changed or you are identifying from a photo, send measurements to the supplier and request written confirmation. For multiple quote lines, include reference and quantity on each.

Before approving the quote, have the requester and installer check dimensions, material and fit together.
