A mismatch in door hardware often appears only after fitting: holes do not align, a rod binds in its guide or the gasket no longer closes evenly. Match the existing set to measurements and a drawing before ordering.

Verify the lock set as a whole. Note the existing lock series and rod diameter. Check from the catalogue drawing that guides, brackets, end pieces and lock belong to a compatible series. Also measure door thickness, hole spacing and handle travel; the same rod diameter alone does not prove the parts fit.

Check hinge movement and fixing dimensions

Record pin diameter, hinge-leaf length and fixing holes. Check for interference with adjacent parts, gasket contact and opening direction with the door open and closed. Photograph corrosion, play or wear, and confirm with the supplier whether replacing one component is sufficient.

Do not choose material from the words “stainless” or “galvanised” alone. Tell the supplier about cleaning chemicals and exposure to water or salt, and confirm a compatible series for those conditions.
