Parts within the same lock family can serve different door and locking arrangements. Ordering by product name alone can result in a body or connection mismatch.

Identify the existing door

Record whether the door uses a recessed body or rod-operated lock, the current body shape, handle or rod connection, door thickness and fixing points. Take photos with a ruler or measurement drawing for scale.

State separately if inside release is needed. The body use and risk assessment may require this function; selecting the right mechanism and verifying its operation are separate steps.

Compare the part reference and dimensions with the current manufacturer catalogue or drawing. For a bar-lock system, confirm handle, guide and connection-series compatibility with the body builder or authorised installer.

After installation, open and close the door several times in its normal operating position; record locking, friction and inside-release operation. If fit is wrong, send it for service rather than forcing parts together.
