Trial Bluetooth in a limited area
Bluetooth LE is designed for low power and supports point-to-point, broadcast and mesh modes. Test the device mode and door reader.
If containers leave the warehouse, define separately where tracking must continue.
Verify LoRaWAN infrastructure. LoRaWAN targets small, infrequent packets, not megabytes per device per day or millisecond real-time control. Still log packet delivery and loss on actual routes.
Ask who owns coverage, who maintains it and how connection failures are reported.
Trial NB-IoT under the actual operator conditions
NB-IoT and LTE-M are LPWA technologies in licensed spectrum. Confirm SIM, service contract and local connection.
For exports or border crossings, ask separately about roaming and data costs.
Measure the cost of a mixed solution. Compare device, network and installation costs over the same period.
