List empty containers, pallets, unsold product and damaged material as separate return items. Add quantity, condition, store and receiving depot for each.
Mark reusable containers as clean, dirty, damaged or awaiting count. For chilled product returns, include lot and dispatch record and keep goods apart from saleable stock until quality disposition.
Give the driver a handover record instead of a verbal reminder. Review the difference between planned and received quantities regularly.
