Containers waiting for repair stand in the service area. Check model instructions and the area SOP for lid position.
Stored shut
Follow equipment instructions and site procedure for cleaning and drying.
Stored open
Follow the SOP for dust protection. Do not load a damaged lid or hinge.
Holding sequence
- Move the container to the designated service area and follow local procedure for emptying and cleaning.
- Add the fault tag and container ID; set the lid position under model instructions.
- Log the hold date, location and follow-up owner.
Verify lid position
Check maker instructions and service SOP for position and cover method. Do not force a damaged lid.
Waiting time is a record too
Log the entry date and planned technical review. If the wait extends, reconfirm the open work order and owner at shift handover.
A container awaiting repair is as much part of the operation as one in the field; the moment it is forgotten, it becomes a loss.
Review the queue
Have the technical owner set priority using the fault record, operational need and site procedure. Keep each waiting container’s status current on the list.
A container held for a long time
The authorized owner and technical team decide whether to repair or retire it; record the basis and date.
