A container’s appearance after repair alone does not prove cleanliness or function.
Traceable sequence
- Record the repair ID and parts used.
- Send the container through the site cleaning procedure.
- Record drying and cleanliness checks as the procedure requires.
- Perform function checks under the model manual and site SOP.
Why steps get skipped
Urgency can lead to missed checks or records. Keep the container segregated until checks are complete.
Residues to check
Under the procedure, check for residue that may result from repair.
- Metal shavings or dust can remain in corners.
- Oil or grease marks may need attention.
- Gasket residue may appear along edges.
Who records what. Technical staff record repair and function checks; wash staff record the cleaning step.
Separate record fields
Record repair and cleaning dates, container ID and responsible people for traceability.
Transfer to the clean area
Keep containers that are unwashed or unchecked separate from the clean area.
Authorized release
Keep the record open and the container on hold until required checks are documented and an authorized person decides.
