For cream-cake transport, product conditions and physical restraint need separate checks. A shipment that meets temperature conditions may still fail if the cake slides or touches a shelf.
Trial the empty carrier with the actual product. Compare the tallest cake's dimensions with the inside of the carrier; check that shelves, lid and adjacent products cannot touch it. Test base grip, lid access during transport and the move from vehicle to recipient.
Record route duration, waiting, lid openings and labelled storage conditions together. Select a cold source or insulated carrier using performance validated with the product and actual load, not a catalogue claim alone.
If product measurement is required at handoff, use the instrument and point in the product procedure. For condensation, sliding or damage, record a photo and delivery time; segregate the product and notify the quality lead.
The carton inner pack and reusable outer carrier do different jobs. Observe cleaning and return flow during the route trial too.
