Roll-container incidents involve the load, wheels, surface and operator together. Load ratings and operating conditions vary by model, so do not assume a standard weight or permitted ramp gradient; follow manufacturer instructions and the site risk assessment.
Before a shift, inspect wheels, brakes, frame, joints and labels. Balance and secure the load without blocking the operator's view. Verify ramp and vehicle-tail-lift surface, slope, threshold and edge protection under site procedure.
Apply the brake when parked, do not leave a container unattended on a slope, and mark and record defects before removing equipment from use. Set personnel positions and exclusion zones during platform movement under manufacturer instructions and site procedure; review incidents and near misses.
