Do not reduce a supplier audit to a site tour or procedure checklist. Compare a sampled operational record with the underlying events, and explain the sampling scope in the audit plan.
Trace one shipment. Compare lot IDs and timestamps across order, picking, packing instruction, dispatch, delivery and reporting. Verify that the logger serial number, calibration evidence and reported readings belong to the same shipment.
For an excursion sample, follow the path from first notification to product decision and evidence that corrective action closed. Turn mismatches into written findings, then agree an owner and target date for response and closure evidence. One record or visit does not prove overall supplier performance.
