For medicine shipments, carrier selection requires clear operating and record responsibilities.

Ask each bidder the same questions

Who supplies temperature data, in what format and when? Who is notified of an excursion, and how? Are goods transshipped or subcontracted? Request records that support equipment and lane capability.

Make service scope comparable. Before comparing prices, align monitoring, transshipment, notification and record handover. Ask in writing about service items that do not explain a price difference.

Check the contract. State product conditions, logger owner, alarm contacts, record delivery timing and terms that must flow down to subcontractors.

Run a trial shipment

On the actual lane, check whether records arrive, their timestamps and readability, and whether excursion notifications reach the agreed contacts. File the result in supplier qualification records.

Quality retains product disposition authority after a delay or excursion; carrier data is evidence for that decision.

Use a comparison sheet

For each bid, record scope, owner, supporting evidence, trial result and unresolved points.

Verify that certificates or equipment statements cover the relevant service and route.

Assess every link in the service chain, including hired vehicles and subcontractors.

Choose using measurable records and signed responsibilities.
