When work passes from picking to loading, verify the container ID and run together; do not let the record wait while the container stands by.
Set the handover point and record
Use the line, queue or area defined in the site SOP. Enter container ID, run and date/time on the handover record.
Pass on lid status and unfinished work, such as a pending seal or label check.
Check the match. Read the container ID on the run sheet against the physical label. Do not guess if the ID or run does not match.
If they differ, hold the container at the designated point, alert the responsible lead and continue only when the record matches.
Measure the wait
Example: loading ends at 14:10 and the container goes on the vehicle at 14:18; the wait is 8 minutes. Record both times and the reason on one line.
Log several dispatches to see where a queue forms; one observation does not establish capacity or performance.
Traceability improves when container ID and run meet in one record.
Close exceptions
If a lid is open, information is missing or damage is seen, link the status and photo to the container ID and hold loading under the site SOP.
Record who reported it, the decision authority, the decision and correction time; use site role definitions for responsibilities.
The next shift should be able to follow an open exception without investigating it again.
