Summarizing rejections by product group makes repeats visible; review delivery volume and reason together before interpreting a group difference as a cause.
Set the denominator and fields
Link each row to product group, run, container ID, rejection reason and measurement source. Divide each group's rejections by its total deliveries; raw counts can favor the most-shipped group.
Reason categories
- Transport record: measurements over time and run conditions.
- Pre-loading record: product measurement and time before dispatch.
- Acceptance measurement: method, point and device details.
- Earlier stage: supplier or production records.
Cross-check the records
A curve's shape alone does not identify the stage. Match loading, run and acceptance times on one timeline; note any measurement-method or clock differences. If unresolved, leave the source unknown.
Interpret group differences
Compare similar route, load and period conditions within a product group. If a difference remains, make the relevant record step an investigation candidate; separate limits or plate arrangements require technical specifications and authorized quality review.
When sharing a rejection table with other parties, show denominator, reason definition and measurement source. A rejection rate prioritizes investigation; it does not assign fault or responsibility by itself.
Rejection evidence and next check
| Record finding | Verify first | Review step |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-loading measurement exists | Product and time match | Dispatch record |
| Change during run | Logger and time basis | Run/exposure record |
| Acceptance measurement differs | Method and device | Acceptance procedure |
| No record found | Archive and download | Missing-measurement reconciliation |
