“The product arrived warm” describes part of the outcome, not where it occurred. Start a root-cause review by building a traceable shipment timeline.

Add these items to the timeline. Collect product and lot details, loading and closure times, carrier handover, route stops and delivery time. Add logger file, device serial number, sensor location and calibration status. If product temperature was measured, record method and sample location; keep it distinct from an air reading.

Compare evidence instead of assumptions

Review possible stages in order: product condition at loading, pack or container preparation, waiting, route and delivery. For each possibility, note which record supports or conflicts with it. A missing record alone does not prove that stage was at fault.

For a recurring event, compare the same product, route and measurement point across trips. Track the same indicators after a correction. Product safety and disposition depend on product information and authorised quality assessment.
