Cold-product movements during a WMS outage should continue only if an approved manual method preserves traceability. The outage plan and an authorised owner determine which work may proceed.
Use a controlled form. Record batch, product, quantity, source and destination, time and operator. Use pre-numbered forms with an approval field.
Link temperature evidence
Connect logger identity, measurement interval and data file to the shipment or batch. Clearly mark any device or network data gap.
Apply the continue-or-stop rule
If batch trace, correct product or required approval cannot be maintained, stop movement and notify a supervisor. Product procedures should set priorities.
Reconcile when systems return. Have an authorised person check and enter paper records. Resolve duplicates, location differences and open orders, then retain the outage file.
