Measure wash water from the line meter and the number of clean containers accepted back into service instead of estimating it.
Define the measurement boundary
Record which line the meter covers, whether prewash and final rinse are included, and the measurement dates.
Period water = ending meter reading minus starting meter reading.
Calculate use per container
Divide period water by the number of containers that passed quality checks and returned to service.
Separate groups when soil class, container model or wash programme differs.
Track other inputs separately
Record heating energy, detergent, disinfectant and effluent without substituting them for the water-meter reading.
State how recovered rinse water is counted and note the applicable hygiene approval in the measurement record.
Compare periods only when meter boundary, acceptance rule and container mix are comparable.
